Carebara Diversa (Asian Marauder Ant) is an advanced species NOT suitable for beginners. Carebara Diversa is mainly known for having the biggest size differences between the minor and the major workers. They are highly aggressive ants which attack everything within their territory. They needs a high amount of nutrition. Their diet consist of up to 80% protein and 20% on carbohydrates. With this much of protein feeds, they are very prone to mites so unfinished protein must always be taken out of the arena. The balance between humidity and ventilation is very important and should always be monitored.
WHAT YOU WILL GET:
1 QUEEN + 10-50 WORKERS OR
1 QUEEN + 60-150 WORKERS
The Colony is housed in a Test tube.
🏠 Housing & Environment
This species demands a strict moisture gradient and escape-proof construction, as the tiny 1.5–2mm minors can exploit gaps that would contain most other ants.
Nest Setup: Recommended use a soil-based that allows for deep tunneling and a humidity gradient. Typical Plaster or Acrylic nest only allows for temporary housing as they grow extremely fast. Provide a humid core (75–85% )
Temperature: Maintain 27–30°C . Avoid drops below 25°C, which can stress the colony.
Escape Prevention: Apply anti escape barrier meticulously. Check every joint, mesh, and extension port. A 0.6mm gap is enough for an escape.
Space: Do not give a small colony a massive nest. Expand modularly as the population grows to avoid stress.
🍽️ Feeding & Diet
They are extreme generalists with a high metabolism. A mature colony consumes vast amounts of food; missing feeding days can lead to worker die-offs.
Protein (Primary): Offer pre-killed or frozen-thawed insects (crickets, roaches, mealworms) initially, as live prey can stress small colonies. For established colonies, feed protein daily or every 1–2 days depending on worker count.
Carbohydrates: Provide constant access to sugar water, diluted honey, or fruit. This is non-negotiable for energy.
Seeds: Seeds, and grains. Only take them when there are large enough majors around
Polymorphism: Do not expect giant super majors/ soldiers immediately. They typically appear once the colony reaches several thousand workers and has surplus resources.
