Ants Subang TIP #03 – Ant Test Tube Red Shade

Problem: Your ant colony gets spooked easily? No ant privacy?
Solution: Ants can’t see spectrum of red light, well at least most of them. This doesn’t mean no light is going through, it’s more like dimming the light for them. Sudden exposure to bright light will stress them. This tip will help with that and at the same time you are able to see your ants without being intrusive. Red glass paper is the most economical way to shade your ants whether if it’s for a formicarium or a test tube. If you feel like double rolling the red glass paper, by all means go ahead but visibility will reduce greatly.
