Camponotus Maculatus Subnudus
Monogyn (single-queen), independent Asian ant species. Polymorphic, its workers appear in three different sizes (minor, media, soldier). In nature, they dig their nests in the ground and are mainly active during the day. Compared to other ants, they are less aggressive, more withdrawn and avoid conflict. A hardy species, it tolerates temporary water or food shortages well. They are typically elongated ants, their color may differ depending on the caste, but may even vary from individual to individual. The workers of the smallest, minor caste, are quite yellowish, while the majors and the queen are slightly darker in color. The heads of the majors are black, their throats are darker, and their bellies are decorated with yellowish spots. The queen is brownish-yellow in color and can expect up to 10-15 years. In addition to their strong chewing, they defend themselves with acidification. They are more active under the influence of heat and develop faster.
Feeding: With honey and insects.
Reproduction: Initially, the colony reproduces slowly, in the first year they raise a maximum of 25-35 workers, but from the third year they can already reach 100 workers. A mature colony consists of a few thousand workers.
